Can you handle the challenge?

OVER the month of October four teams of Fugro-TSM employees completed the Western Australian Department of Transport Corporate Walking Challenge.

Held each year, the challenge encourages participants from West Australian workplaces to increase their daily walking and replace some of the 90 million private car trips of less than one kilometre each year.

Each employee was given a pedometer to track and record their daily step count in a friendly and fun competition. Human Resources Coordinator, Jennifer Hall, took out first place honours within Fugro-TSM with an enormous 484,810 steps during the month of October. Out of 431 teams across Western Australia, her team ‘The Flying Dodo Birds,’ placed 31st with a total of 1,493,103 steps.

Fugro-TSM is committed to continually improving our environmental performance. Through our partnership with Carbon Neutral, we are minimising the impact our vessels and air travel have on the environment through the planting of native species trees in Western Australia’s wheat belt area. In our office environments we also utilise Greenpower Accredited electricity options wherever possible.

Fugro-TSM is always pleased to support events such as the Corporate Walking Challenge, to further promote the health of our employees and of the environment.
